Electroless Nickel is an auto-catalytic reaction that deposits nickel onto a substrate without the use of an electric current (see Electroplating-101). The result is a deposit of nickel-phosphorus alloy on the surface of the substrate. Varying levels of phosphorus are used depending on the desired specifications. This process is an alternative to electroplating and has certain key advantages. One key benefit to electroless nickel is the ability to produce a completely uniform surface regardless of the complexity of the substrate due to the absence of electricity used in the process. This allows our customers to get the benefits of nickel plating while achieving complete coverage and uniform thickness.
